The funeral took place at Old Bourne Churchyard, Surrey, last month of Flight-lieutenant H. R. D. Waghorn, the winner of the Schneider Trophy race in 1929, who recently lost his life as the result of a two-seater airplane which he was testing crashing at Farnborough. Crowds lined the route to the cemetery to pay homage to the popular young airman. Our picture shows the cortege on its way to the cemetery. The coffin may be seen on an R.A.F. tender. —Sport and General, photo.
