POST AND TELEGRAPH APPEAL BOARD
TELEGRAPH BRANCH REPRESENTATIVE. WELLINGTON, June 26. Elected ,by a majority of 620 votes Mr Harold Vivian Ward, assistant-super-visor of the telegraph delivery branch at Wellington, will succeed on the Post and Telegraph Appeal Board Mr J. D. Burns, of Christchurch, who did not seek re-election. In accordance with the regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act a postal ballot was held on June 24 for the purpose of electing to the board a representative of the officers of the telegraph branch of the department. The candidates for election were Daniel Sloan, telegraphist, Christchurch, and Harold Vivian Ward. The result of the election was as under: Sloan 1312, Ward 1932; majority for Ward 620. The Appeal Board consists of Mr E. C. Cutten, S.M. (chairman), Mr H. P. Donald, and representatives elected from the postal and telegraph branches of the service by the officers of thoso branches. The postal representative is Mr W. G. F. Pinkham, clerk, Blenheim, who was elected unopposed in succession to Mr E. R. Blewett, of Nelson.
