Co-operation between tree-lovers and bird-lovers in 'New Zealand is growing under the influence of scientific societies (horticultural and ornithological) and of popular bodies like the Forestry League and the Native Birds Protection Society. A new step towards co-operation was taken recently when the Forestry League wrote to county councils asking for the collaboration of some forest-minded gentleman who, friendly to trees and natural landscape, would act as a correspondent and adviser to the league on subjects within his province. There has been a very large response by county councils, and there is at least a hope that a number of forestry enthusiasts up and down New Zealand will thus be linked up.
