A suggestion that trout should be liber ated in Lake Pupuke, Takapuna, was made by Mr C. A. Whitney at a recent meeting of the council of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society (says the New Zealand Herald). He said that in 1927 the Takapuna Borough Council had given, pet mission for the stocking of the lake witn perch, but the scheme had fallen through on account of the prohibitive cost of that type of fish. Trout ova had since been liberated, but they did not survive Mr Whitney said he considered, however, that if yearling trout were placed in the lake they would prove successful. The matter was referred to the General Committee.
