The Board of Health again discussed the question of the quarantine system in New Zealand, and after consideration ot a report presented by Dr Watt, Directorgeneral of Health, unanimously passed the following resolution:—"The Board of Health is of the opinion that the adoption of the English system of quarantine in_ New Zealand would give at least as muchprotection as that at present in force, while it would enable a considerable saving to be effected in administrative costs, and would involve less interference with" shipping and the convenience of the travelling public.”
