NATIONAL BIBLE SOCIETY
WONDERFUL SCOTTISH ORGANISATION. The annual report of the National Bible Society of Scotland, which is just to hand, shows an astonishing work for a society which represents a country so small in population and extent as Scotland. She has been known as Bibleloving Scotland, and in nothing does she show this more than in the way she seeks to distribute its life-giving leaves broadcast over the world. Notwithstanding the economic depression, this society has had for the year 1930 an increase in that circulation of the Scriptures of 287,825 over that of 1929, and no fewer than a total of 5,651,635 Scriptures were circulated by it throughout the world. Each year it seems to establish, as it has done again this year, a new record. Its funds were assisted during the year by the sum of £9652 from the Empire overseas, and Otago and Southland contributed their part to this amount. With a history of nearly 121 years behind it the National Bible Society of Scotland has achieved a wonderful record of service.
