EMPIRE CRUSADE AGAINST CANCER
Never before have such vast forces been organised to overcome disease as are arrayed beneath the banners of the British Empire Cancer Campaign. In every part of the world the crusade is being organised, and New Zealand must do its part in raising funds to help the Dominion’s cancer sufferers obtain proper treatment, and also to assist in the financing of scientific research. Knowledge is the best weapon against cancer, but the acquirement of knowledge demands enormous equipment to enable medical and statistical workers to function efficiently. Only by constant study of the disease and of curative effects in all their stages can the mystery of cancer be solved. In the meantime, everybody should remember that the chief message of the crusade is one of hope. Cancer in its early stages is usually curable when properly treated. If one has the slighest suspicion that one has cancer, one should consult a doctor at once The only really incurable form of cancer is that which has been allowed to go too far.
