A cannon has ended the life of Abdul Gafoor, last surviving general of Habibullah Khan, the son of a water-carrier, who in 1929 ruled Afghanistan for a few months after driving King Amanullah into exile. By order of Nadir Shah, the conqueror of Habibullah and present ruler of Afghanistan, Abdul Gafoor has been blown from the mouth of a cannon at Kabul. He was the first to turn traitor to exKing Amanullah, and he had committed numerous atrocities during his leader’s brief regime.
