TAIERI PLUNKET SOCIETY

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Taieri Subbranch of the Plunket Society was held in the Coronation Hall on Wednesday. After the routine business had been attended to, the following were elected office-bearers for the ensuing year;—President, Mrs A. Arundel; vice-presidents, Mesdames Allan and Gordon; treasurer, Mrs Wilson; secretary, Mrs Livingston; committee — Mesdames White. Smith, Smeaton, Lambert, Graham, Wyllie, Gillan, Weddell, Sproule, Reid, Connor, Ferry, Millan, and Miss Drummond. The district nurse reported on the number of cases engaging attention, and what had been accomplished during the past year. As the work of this branch was growing, the committee expressed a wish to have the nurse stationed on the Taieri. At the close of the business the committee provided afternoon tea.

. A farmer who was alleged to be keeping a diseased dog, which was allowed to feed from pails which were used during the separation of milk, was reported to the Canterbury Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at its monthly meeting, and it was decided to refer the case to the Health Department.
