TWO SAILORS INJURED

MONOWAI SHIPS HEAVY SEA. WELLINGTON, June 1. Two sailors, W. Carmichael and G. APDonald, met with serious injuries on the Alonowai in the Tasman Sea. Carmichael had a leg broken in two places, and ATDonald had his back strained severely. On the arrival of the vessel in port this morning they were removed to the Auckland Hospital. The two men were washing down the decks. The sea was not rough, but choppy. Without warning, the Alonowai gave a lurch, and a huge sea came tumbling aboard and swirled along the decks, flooding the alleyways. The two men were hurled along the deck and up against the railing, which prevented them from going overboard. Next minute the sea was as it had been for the preceding 28 hours.
