WAITAKI OLD BOYS
ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Dunedin branch of the Waitaki High School Old Boys’ Association was held in the University Club Rooms on Thursday evening, the president (Mr E. E. Clowes) in the chair. In moving the adoption of the annual report the chairman said that during the year the work of the committee had been mainly to keep in touch with the old boys with a view to maintaining the interest in the school. To do this it was, of course, necessary to hold various social functions in order to get the old boys together so that the older members of the association could meet and renew old friendships, and also become acquainted with the newer members. The accounts showed a satisfactory surplus on the year’s working, and as a result of the ball held in September last, the funds w’ere augmented considerably. It was unfortunate that no football match against the Timaru Old Boys’ Association could be arranged during the past year, but it was to be hoped that a fixture would be revived in the coming season. Taken throughout the state of the branch afforded grounds for satisfaction, but it was to be hoped that the membership would increase considerably during the coming, year. Mr Clowes said he wished members to keep in mind that a jubilee of the school would be held two years hence, and it was possible, in connection with this function that some assistance might be required from them, particularly with regard to the purchase of the school organ. The school was established on May 15, 1883, arid it had been suggested that the jubilee celebrations might therefore be held during Easter, 1933. The motion was seconded by Captain W. J. King, and was carried. The chairman reviewed and moved the adoption of the annual balance sheet, and the motion, seconded by Mr W. Ward, was carried. OFFICE-BEARERS. i ' • The following office-bearers vyere elected:—-President, Mr E.' E. Clowes; vice-presidents, Messrs L. E. Barrett and A. E. Duncan; secretary, Mr H. M. Kirk; committee—Messrs G.
