LOYAL MESSAGE FROM DOMINION WELLINGTON, June 2. The Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe) has forwarded the following message for submission to the King on the occasion of his Majesty’s birthday:— On the occasion of your Majesty’s birthday 1 beg to express the loyal and respectful good wishes of the Government and people of New Zealand and to convey an assurance of their unwavering devotion to your Majesty and the throne, and their earnest hope that your Majesty may enjoy the blessings of renewed health and strength. NO NEW ZEALAND HONOURS WELLINGTON, June 2. No birthday honours are to be con ferred on New Zealanders this year. No official explanation of this decision has been given, but it is understood that the Government has been particularly occupied during recent months, and has had no occasion to make recommendations in view of the present economic situation.
