SCIENCE OF CHEMISTRY
NEW ZEALAND INSTITUTE FORMED. WELLINGTON, June 2. A New Zealand Institute of Chemistry has recently been constituted, and branches have been formed in the four main centres. The principal objects are the advancement of the science and application of chemistry in all branches and the interests of those engaged therein, the promotion of honourable practice, and the decision of questions of professional usage and etiquette. The first president of the institute is Pro-fessor-emeritus W. P. Evans. The council consists of Professor F. P. Worley (Auckland), Mr G. A. Lawrence (Wellington), Professor H. G. Denham (Christchurch), and Dr R. Gardner (Dunedin). The bon. secretary is Mr W. A. Joiner, of the Dominion laboratory. t
