WRESTLING.

CONFERENCE OF DELEGATES. WELLINGTON, June 6. A conference of delegates to the Dominion Wrestling Union of New Zealand was held yesterday. Mr H. D. Bennett presiding. The chairman said that tile most important event of the year was the agreement arrived at by the two bodies promoting'wrestling in the Dominion. A complete merger had been effected both at Auckland and Wellington. This cleared the way for better control of the game in this country. The union would insist upon the sport being conducted in a manner free from any of the objectionable features associated with the sport in certain States. Regarding representation on the council, it was decided for the present that Auckland, Wellington, and Otago should have two delegates each, and the remaining centres one each. .After discussion concerning the appointment of a match committee to arrange bouts, it was decided to carry on in the usual manner, allowing each association to make its own matches subject to the approval of the union. It- was resolved that no active ptofes.sional wrestler be allowed to referee a profesional contest in the future. It was agreed to hold the amateur wrestling championships in Wellington toward the end of the season. In all amateur competitions the value of the trophy for the .winner is to be £1 Is.
