JURY’S VERDICT REVERSED. WELLINGTON, Alay 2o’. The verdict of the jury which, in the Supreme Court on Friday, found for James Grey Wight, a labourer, in an action for damages against the Cunningham Carrying Company, was reversed by Mr Justice Reed in a reserved judgment to-day on the ground that the driver failed to see that the man had reached safety. The jury awarded Wight £202 6s special damages, and £250 general damages, but in his Honor’s opinion no facts had been established from which negligence on the part of the lorry driver might be reasonably inferred, and in those circumstances there should be judgment for the defendant. °
