As the sequel to a tomato throwing episode in Christchurch on election night, Douglas William Hansen, aged 19, unemployed, pleaded guilty- on Wednesday to disorderly behaviour, and was fined 20s and costs. Princess Helena Victoria and Princess Marie Louise both loaned reminders of their nursery days to a loan exhibition of treasures of famous children at Eresby House, London. A favourite doll’s dinner service which delighted the little Princesses for many years, and a highly coloured German book from which Princess Marie Louise learned her alphabet, were two of the exhibits. Lord Baden-Powell was represented by a work entitled “ The Laws of Life,” which he wrote at the age of eight, and Sir lan Hamilton by a dancing Moor toy. There was a sketch by Queen Victoria drawn when she was a child.
