RAILWAY APPEAL BOARD.

MINISTER'S VETO RESENTED. CHRISTCHURCH, September 7. At a meeting of the Addington Workshops employees to-day the following resolution was carried unanimously :— " Seeing that the only direct means of redTess which railway men have to rely upon has bean, practically taken from them by the Minister vetoing the decision of the Appeal Board, this meeting deems it unwise to nominate or elect members to represent the Workshops Department on the said board, and until such time as Parliament hae had an opportunity of giving members of the service the full benefit it intended by the Classification Act by removing the clause which enables the Minister to nullify the judgment of the tribunal, which should be entirely free from departmental interferences."
