l%e ordinary monthly meeting was held on the 7th instant, and was attended by Messrs C. W. Chamberlain (chairman), F. O. Bridjreroan, J. A. Park, and Captain Strange Mr Whiteon (U-S.S-- Company) 'wrote enclosing a cheque for £6 7s 6d, boa* th» proceeds of an entertainment held on board the s.s. Tofua during a trip from Sydney, round the South Sea Islands.—-Acknow-ledged with th&nka. A letter was reoeived from the society*! Wellington agent (Mr James Moore) encloc* ing £1, being * donation made by Mis* Rodgers — Acknowledged with thank*. Captain Fleming reported that he had conrered a fisherman named Frank Lener* berg, who bad heen blown out from West* port and picked up by a passing steamer, back from Auckland to his home in W«*fcport at ihe society's expense. — Captain FLatmiie's action was approved of.
