The patron saint of skating.

Mr and Mrs T. Hawkins, of Kytten Barton, Holcombe Rogers, were presented by the Mayor of Tiverton, at Tiverton agricultural show, with prizes for having broupht up 16 children without receiving parish relief. The Palmerston Borough Council has been offered by a resident of Foxfcon the figure-head of ths ship Hyderabad, said to have been wrecked in the year 1877. The figure, that of a Hindoo, is nine feet high, carved from a- Baltic pine log, and is said to be in an exc-ellent state of preservation, notwithstanding its great ace. The price asked for the statue is £50, and it is estimated it would cost another £10 to have it 6et up.
