CHESS MATCH.

DUNEDIN v. TIMARD". A match by telegraph between the Dunedin and Timaru Chess Clubs was commenced on Saturday night with 13 players aside. Mr J. L. Flint umpired for Timaru and Mr J. At Board 5 Mr Ellis nearly jeopardised his queen by an over-impetuoua attack. With careful play, however, the Dunedin representative may emerge .scathlesfl. Fraser) transmitted the moves .faultlessly and with expedition.
