GORE RACING CLUB.

At a meeting of the committee of the Gote Racing Club on Wednesday evening £be chairman (Mr I*. Green) said he was jn receipt of a petition from 20 members irf the club, headed by Mr J. W. Kelly, iwho reque&ted him to call at as early a elate as possible a special general meeting «f members of the club to take into consideration the action of the committee in failing to carry out the recommendations Of the members carried at the last annual general meeting, and also to take into consideration the action of the committee with regard to the increase of the 6takes at the forthcoming spring meeting. The president said that- without the committee's direction to do co he did not propose to call a meet- ' %ng. The committee had acted in. the beet interest* of the club, and among those signIng the protest were no fewer than seven Who had failed to get a place on the committee, and yet apparently wanted to run the club.
