BRITAIN AND GERMANY
LONDON, September 9. Mr Asquith, in the House of Commons, in reply to Mr Byles, reiterated his previous announcement that any intimation of Germany's desire for an agreement regarding a reduction in armaments would meet with the most cordial response from the British Government. The Berlin National Zeitung, commenting on Mr Asquith's reply, declares that British supremacy at sea is merely a matter of years.
