TRIAL OF WIMSETT.

VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY. . WELLINGTON, September 1. The fifth day of the trial of Arthur F. Wimeett, charged with jomplicity in th« robbery at the Parcels Post Office iii January last, was entered upon to-day. The accused's wife related a conversation, she had with Hemingway in the gaol. Witness spoke of her husband's arrest, and asked Hemingway what be' was going to do. Hemingway replied : "I am going into the box -to give Wimsett five solid years, as he has given to me." She replied : " How can you do that ?" Hemingway answered : " 1 am 'n for five years, what with your giving tip stuff to the detectives and Arthur with his long tongue telling the detectives I was in Sydney."' He added that a detective told him that Wimeett had given the information away. Several witnesses testified to the good character of Wimsett. The trial came to a conclusion this afternoon. Without leaving the box the jury found Wimsett not guilty, adding that the trial left no etain pn. his character.
