OTAGO FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION.
The weekly meeting of the O.F.A. Executive was held on Monday evening, Mr J. Braithwaite presiding. In reply to a telegraphic inquiry, the ecretary of the N.Z.F.A. wired that Wellington's Brown Shield fixtures were : — Against Hawke's Bay, on September 15; igainst Wanganui, on September 22 (probibly). Wellington could receive Otago on September 25 or Oc'.ober 2.— The opinion ivas expressed that either date was rather ate. It was resolved that the selectors' report as to the quality of the ieam availible be obtained before the reply was fcrvarded, the feeling being that the sending if a team was doubtful. The Secretary of tho Canterbury Assc;iation wrote suggesting that the Calelonian Ground be secured if possible for he interprovincial match Otago v. Can;erbury. If that were done Canterbury vould send its- best team down, but if the >layers could not get their expenses, or >ortion of them, paid they would not travel n any account. — It was ascertained by elephone that the O.K.F.U. had granted he use oi one of their grounds for Sepen.bpr 18. It was resolved to ask the XR.F.U. for the use of Carisbrook Sround for September 25. It wa*s decided to extend the time for •eceiving entries for, the live a-side cometitions until this (Tuesday) evening at i o'clock. Entries so far for the various :ompetitions totalled :— Senior 8, Second trade 9, Third Grade 8, Fourth Grade 14. In connection with the complaint that Lad anguage had baen used by a player at a ecent match on Corinthian Park between wo warehouse teams, the secretarj rejorted that a member of the team whose jlayer had used bad language had called ipon him, expressing regret, and advisng that the offending player had been put >ut of the team. The secretary of the Northern A.F.C. vrote complaining that the Kaitangata Junior team had not fulfilled its fixture vith Northern Second Grade team on Saturday. — Northern to be advised that xaitangata had at the eleventh hour, un'ortunately, been unable to get five of heir players away. The Secretary of the Schools Committee •eported that Christian Brothers A team tad won the Senior Schools Cup, with High Street runners-up; and that High School ?l team had won the Junior Cup, with Jeorge Street runners-up. — Recorded. Messrs 1?. C. Mackay and J. Watt wer. appointed manager and coach respectively >f the Otago Schools team to visit \Yelington. It was decided to remit the sum of one guinea (half the affiliation fee) to the ).8.1. Club, this being the first year ol he club's existence. The Wednesday Asociation's application to have the sum of wo guineas (half this year's affiliation fee) emitted, was granted. The Alliance Club .pplied for remission of one guinea (half filiation fee), and this \\u& granted. — The Secretary was instructed to OQiai out to
the applicants that similar concessions were not to be expected in future. The use of the Gardens Ground on Saturday between 2 and 3 p.m. was granted for a match between Opoho and King Street Congregational Sunday Schools.
