Ta-ranaki defeated Auckland to-day' by 6 points (two tries) to 3 points (a penalty goal). Both the tries for the winners were scored by Cameron. AUCKLAND MATCHES. AUCKLAND. September 5. The Auckland Rugby Football team arrived this morning by the Main Trunk express. A match was played yesterday by the team against the Maniapoto representatives, at Te Kuiti. Tho Auckland team won by 16 points to nil. Tries were scored by Renw ick (2). Williams, and Magse, the latter converting two. The Auckland Junior representatives defeated Waiuku by 25 points to 6. The touring tea*n has returned with the principal players unlit from casualties, the playing of five matches in a week being too mucn for some of the team
