ALLEGED MANSLAUGHTEP.

AUCKLAND, September 5. Two very young married people named Robert John Neil and Olive Josephine Neil, whose two-months-old child died suddenly on August 25, were called upon in the Police Court, yesterday to answer a charge of manslaughter. Tha child had not been attended by a mcdi- . cal man, and on an examination being made by Dr Rockway it was found to be in an extremely emaciated condition. There was an inquest, at which the jury found that death was due to marasmus, accelerated by the neglect of the parents in not obtaining medical aid, such neglect being due to the inexperience and youth of the parents. Evidence having been heard, Mr Kettle, S.M., announced that he would give judgment later.
