THE FORB URY PARK TROTTING CLUB.
The ForbuTy Park Trotting Club held a committee meeting yesterday afternoon, wihen the following appointments were made* for the season : — Treasurer, Mr L. C. Hazlett; handicapper, Mr H. J. Gourley ; clerk of scales, Mr T. Elliot; clerk of course, Mr J. Jeffs;, starter, Mr L. C. Hazlett; timekeepers, Messrs J A. Sligo and F. Johnston ; hon. surgeon, Dr Evane ; hon. vet. eurgeon, Mr W D. Snowball ; Finance Committee — Messrs Hazlett, Johnston, and Sligo; Programme Committee — Messrs R. Rutherford. Jeffs, Johnston, Elliot, and Morrison ; Track Committee — Messrs Elliot, Jeffs, Rutherford, Greenslade, and Sligo; Totalisator Committee — Messrs Morrison, M'Ghie, and Greenslade. It was decided to make the dates for the spring meeting Friday and Saturday, the 26th and 27th November. and_ that tenders be called for the right of privileges during the year. The Programme Committee subsequently met and decided to allot 1500sovs in prize money for the inaugural meeting at Forbury Park, and the amount represents an increase of 500sovs over last year's total. The princit>al events will be the President's Harness Handicap, of 175eovs, two miles, 4.55 class; Stewards' Saddle, of 120sovs, two miles, 5.12 class; Forbury Cup, of 20<hovs, two miles, 4.50 class; and St. Clair Handicap (saddle), of jSOsovb, two miles, 5.10 class. Six events on the programme carry lOOsovs or more in prize, money. la addition the club will offer a purse of 25sovs for a reduction of the club's mile record, Which stands at 2.16 1-5. The rider or driver of the winner of the first race decided on the track will receive a £5 5s gold modal, which is to be presented by ihe stewards. The driver of the winner in the President's Handicap will receive a £5 5s gold medal (presented by the president, Mr W. J. Gore), and the driver of the winner of the Forbury Cup is -to be presented with a £5 5s gold medal by Mr R. Rutherford. A deputation of the Stewards subsequently waited on Mr P. Miller, and asked him to act as judge. Mr Miller is considering the matter, and the committee is hopeful of getting a favourable reply.
