I A half-caste girl named Harriet SutherI land, who was staying with friends at ' Frasertown, disappeared in the beginning of January, and rumours have been in . circulation amongst the Natives to the effect that there is something underlying the case. Police inquiries have so far been without result, and with a view to ■ endeavouring to clear the matter up De- , tective Hill left this morning for Wairoa. i The exports from Auckland in August showed an increase in most lines as compared with August, 1908, and in frozen beef, flax, and tallow increases on last month's exports. The gold export was 1 £63,590", as against £57,197 in the preI vious year.
