FEILDING FANCIES.

By tha Old 'Un. On Monday the Feilding Comedy Co., %vhich has an ex-Holtian, Mr J. R. Goodall. as its main prop and stage manager, produced that old -time farcical comedy, "Con fusion," in the Drill Hall. The attendance was not as good as the management desired or expected — what attendance is, exempting Dick Stewart's fine-me-for-it houses?— and th«> play consequently did not go 6o well as did "Jane," which was given by ihe same company just three months ago. Tho following was ihe cast of '"Confusion" : — Mortimer Mumbleford, Mr J. R. Goodai! ; Rupert Sunberry, Mr W. Mills : James, Mr E. Le^; Miss Lucretia Ticklefcy, Miss M. Mowbray ; Maria, Miss White : Christopher Blizzard, Mr H. Lloyd; Dr

Bartholomew Jones, Mr W. Beale; Muzzle ; Mr R. A. Banks ; Violet, Miss Ais her ; Rose Mumbleford, Mrs Goodall. Mrs Goodall and Miss Mowbray have both been on the stage professionally, but the other seven are amateurs. W. Mills is a 16-year-old son of a journalist, who for many years acted as Wellington musical and dramatic critic ("F. Rompter") for the Witness. To-night (Friday) we are to have the first visit of the Dominion Pictures Syndicate, which has Mr M'Artney as manager. He has acquired the Taylor-Carrington picture outSt, as the T.C.s have dropped pictures to go in for drama again. A circuit is to be established along this island from Palmerston to New Plymouth. For some time there has been an effort here to get either &n Opera House or a Town Hall erected. A special committee was set up by the Borough Council to consider the proposals (I believe friend Bert Royle was consulted), and it has just reported in favour of a Town Hall, at a cost of £3000. Curtain !
