YOUNG MAN'S FREAK. THE SUPPOSED SUICIDE.
WELLINGTON, August 26. Tho young maa (John Robert Calderwood) who disappeared euddenly from his horn a on Sunday night, leaving letters behind liim in which he intimated that h© intended to commit fuicide, turned up in the Pahautsnui district-. The police have been advised that he called at a house in Judgeford, near Pahautanui, and informed the occupant that he had been employed by Mr Carroll, of Newtown, and liad walked during the night from. Wellington to Hay-ward's, thence to Judgeford. He had a cut on b]£ arm about 2£in in length, which he said was caused by a scythe -blade falling in his camp. He was taken in, and the cut was dressed. After he had been supplied with breakfast he proceeded on his way towards Paikakariki:
