PORTOBELLO FISH HATCHERY.
HELP FROM CANTERBURY. CHRISTCTTTTRCH, August 18. The Canterbury Acclimatisation Society has decided to 'vote £20 towards maintain* ing the Portobello marine fish hatchery, the Government having declined to agree to the suggestions of the Hatchery Board regarding the future maintenance of the hatchery. The btiard wanted a grant of £500, but the Government was -only agreeable to continue to grant £250.
