The Napier musical and elocutionary competitions began to-night. Results :—: — Soprano solo : Miss R. Handley (Blenheim), 77 points, 1; Miss L. Bear (Napier), 73 points, 2; Mrs H. Beebe (Napier), 68 .points 3. Piano (senior) : Miss B. A. Homer (Patea, Taranaki), 87 points, 1; Miss St. C. Rickard (Hastings), 85 points, 2 j Miss F. Meadowcroft (Napier), 81 points, o.
