August 22. Sir Joseph and Lady Ward, Dr Fitchetf, Mr James Hielop (private secretary). ' and -Miss Seddon ha.ye left ; London. They will sail from Vancouver by the Makura. A . large crowd, warmly cheering as the train left Eoston, included Mr H. Just (Assistant Under-secretary of State for the Colonies and representing the Colonial Office), Mr, v Mrs, and the Misses HallJones, the Chinese Ambassador, Dr Chappie. Mr J. H. Witheford, Mr I. WRaymond, -Colonel Davies, Sir Walter •Kennaw,ay, and Mr Wray Palliser (HigK Commissioner's Office).
