SHOOTING.
A team from the Maniototo Mounted Rifles journeed to Dunedin on Friday to try conclusions with the Caversham Rifles. On Friday evening the visitors were the guests of ihe local corps at ite annual presentation of prizes and dance, and on Saturday evening were taken to the Princess Theatre. The shooting match took place on Saturday afternoon, when the visitors had an easy win by 59 points. The weather conditions were- unfavourable for good shooting, a tricky wind and changeable light prevailing. The conditions of the match were 10 men aside, seven shots and optional eighter at 200 and 500 yards. At the conclusion of the match Lieutenant Dowiing, on behalf of the Maniototo Mounted Rifles, thanked the Oaversham i Rifles for the manner in which they had entertained his team during its visit, and expressed a wish that the local team ' would fire a return match at Ranfurly at , an early date.
