LEATHER RUBBER.
HASTINGS. August 12. Mr E. Dim- nt, of Melbour le, has succeeded in selling to a New Zealand &yndi- j cate for £20.000 the right to manufacture i leather rubber in the Dominion, and a J company with a capital of £40,000 (over-subi-ci ibed) has been floated to manufacture many articles of commerce now made j of ordinal y leather and rubber, the waste products of which make leather rubber. Ninety per cent, of the rapital was raised j in ITawke's Bay. The factory will be in j Hasf'ng;-, and the r.Miiufacture commences j early next year. J
In the budding and completing of a Dreadnought, daily work is afforded for between 1000 and 1500 skilled men. Of ths total cost of £1,950,000, about 70 per cent.— or £1,365,000— w0u1d go in wages.
