DUNEDIN D.L.F. LITERARY AND DEBATING CLUB.
Motto: "Union is Strength." • -The usual weekly meeting of the above club was held on Tuesday evening, August 10, > 1909. 'There was a poor attendance of members, owing, no doubt, to the wet evening. As the vice-president (Larkspur) had to leave early, a chairman, was chosen in her place. Indian Chief filled the position most satisfactorily. A hearty welcome was extended to Telayera. The subject for th« evening was "Humorous Adventures," but 1 only Texas Jack brought a humorous- adventure. Indian Chief, Mattie, and Thora brought humorous readings. It is very difficult* indeed to remember all £h» humorous little incidents that happen in one's life, and when they are related they hardly come under the heading of "adventure.". A.W.D.F. kindly sent us in some valuable suggestions for debate, and we, thank her very kindly, and if the club continues we shall be tible to use some of the suggestions. Things »t present look anything but promising. W« wish our president an enjoyable holiday. ABETA, Secretary
