August 13.

Dear Pasquin. — "Jane," that splendid farce-comedy, which has not been, played here for many years, # was revived this week at the Opera House by the Mountebank Dramatic Club. The players scored an immediate success, and deserve all praise for their clever acting. The mounting and dressing were above the average, and the players had been well drilled by Mr I>eo d-3 Chateau. '"'Jane" will certainly bear repetition in the future at the hands of the Mountebanks. The following was the cast : — Charles Shacklefcon Frank Lam pen Michael Kershaw J. E. Porter William Tipson Leo de Chateau Mr Pixton Vivian Rhind Clauds Dr Isaacs Mrs Chad wick Miss A. Quirt Mrs Pixton Miss G. Nannestad Lucy Miss K. PAeneen Jane Mi*s Marshal] "Tommy" Burns showed here on Monday and Tuesday evenings There was a fair audience the first night, but a poor one the second. There is good material in the show, and under a competent *t.agc nanager an entertaining evening's amu«ement could be arranged.
