DRAUGHTS MATCH.

ROMAHAPA v. OWAKA VALLEY.

An interesting draughts match took plac« in the Oddfellows' Hall, Owaka, between teams from the Owska Valley and Romahapa Draughts Clubs, on Saturday nightsAugust 7. The match resulted in a draw; a previous match, played at Romahapr earlier in the season, was won by the Romahapa Club by the narrow margin of five games. A good deal of interest was taken in the meeting of Messrs W. Davis and A. Thompson, as in the first match these player* had only managed to play one game, and that one a draw. Unfortunately Mr Thompson was unable to be preeent at th© commencement of the match. Afterwards, however, Mr Davis and he had a few games, tbe former having rather the bette. of these.
