LADIES' GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.
PALMERST^N N., August 11. A hundred and- one competitors have entered for the Ladies' Championship -Golf tournament/ which commences on Wedneslay next. The entries are as follows: — Open Championship, 48 ; Medal Competition, (handicap), 94; Teams' Maitch, 13; Team of Four Each (Handicap Bogey), 88; Foursomes, 78; Donnelly Cup, 77; Coronation Medal, 50; Driving, 63^ Approaching and Putting, 81. August 14. Entries are now complete for the ladies' New Zealand championship golf tournament, which begins on Wednesday, except for tho post entries. A number of the competitors have already arrived, and were out on the links to-day. There are 49 entries for the championship, 96 for the medal handicap, 90 for the Bogey match, 79 for the ladies foursomes, 77 for the Donnelly Cup 51 for the Coronation medal, 64 for the driving, and '82 for the approaching and putting The entrants for the championship include Mi«s Christie, the present champion, Miss Rattray, who was thrice champion, Mrs W. E. Bidwell, and Mrs Guy Williams, who were each twice champion, and Miss Stephemson, who was once champion Among the district champions are Mrs Bevan, of Otaki. Manawatu champion ; Miss Snodprass, Hokitika champion; Miss Campbell, Ohristohurch champion; Miss Broithwsute, Napier champion; Miss Cowper, Wanganui ohampion ; and Miss Hannay, ex-champion , Wellington^ Twentythree clubs are represented. The links at Hokowhitu are in excellent condition.
