RESIGNATION IMPENDING.

WELLINGTON, August 16. Mr Walter Dinnie, Commissioner of Police, will resign his position at the conclusion of the inquiry now being held by the commission- He is only waiting till he has placed his side of the case before- the commission to give up his. position. The Minister of Justice, on being questioned to-night regarding Commissioner Dinnie's position, said he had up to the present received no official in- . timation whatever as to Mr Dinnie's in-, tention to resign.
