The Surrey Cricket Committee has resolved not to invite J. N. Crawford to play again, because he declined to play against the Australians.

Crawford replies that he declined to captain a team, which did not Include three essential players — Davis, Lees, and Rushby, — an independence which he trusts will still remain to every amateur in the United Kingdom.
