Roads. — For two months there was very little wind,- and Jhe roads, especially around Sutton, were very much cut up, and settlers had cause to complain thereat. However, with a fortnight's good weather, and the grader having been t>ut o-^er the road, it is "emcoth running " now. Changes. — Our jjen.ial sfadonmaster. Air Geonge Grey, is under orders for Oamaru. His successor is Mr Jenkins, who is not unknown, to residents-, ac he was formerly porter here, and he will 'he welcomed again in his hig-her office, \nothev change nen<ling-. I believe, \s that Dr Collier is likely to be' leaving our midst, to take charge of the sanatorium at PaJmerston. — Mr Wm. Robertson, who for 9 .number of years had charge of stud and stock and was farm ovareeer at Glad'brook. was entertained at a social, and received presentations from his employers and fellow-employees. Mr Robertson has taken what was recently Mr Popham's farm. — Mr and Mrs Peter M 'Fad yen ay* leaving our midst for Dunback district. Tliey carry with them our good wishes for tiheir future welfare. Improvements. — With the set turner, t of Rev. Mr Winisrfield as vicar in this district i licaragc is bo-ing erected in the town-ship n-ea.v the church.
