The matter of eyangeJisation was brought up by the following letter from the convenor of the Assembly Evangelistic Committee: "It would greatly help our committee if your Presbytery woukTkindly consider and answer the following questions : (1) What is the extent and character of the need for evangelistic effort in your Presbytery? (2) What means are being adopted or proposed to meet the need? (3) Do you cor.sider it advisable that our committee ehould rocommend to the- Assembly the appointment of one or more As-jemblv's evangelists to help supply this need. (4) "Can you give us the name or names of any person or persons whom you consider suitable for this -work? (5; Can j-ou suggest what would br the best means to employ io secure their financial support? (6) Are there any other matters involved in the problem of evangelising our land in regard to which joi; aic prepared to offer helpful suggestions?" The Presbytery's Evangelisation Committee reported having- met, and it recommends that the following answers be sent to the questions set :— (1) The- need for every effort is co-extensive with the Presbytery. Th-j kind of effort required is such as will . (a) deepen the spiritual life of Church members : (b) bring to definite decision those within the Church who have-not yet \ ielded to Christ ; (c) enable the. Church to roach those at present outside. (2) The only thing the Presbytery has recently done is th^ appointment of an Evengolistie Committee on the 2nd February. By private arrange men rs evangelistic missions have been held in First Church by Mr Hugh Paton, Knox Church by the Rev. Mr Fairmaid, North-East Valley by the Rev. Mr Catherwood, Moegiel by the Rev. A. Gray (of Gore), and Xorth-Eaef Valley and Roslyn by the Rev. A. Allan. (3) The timeis not vet ripe for the appointment of an Assembly's evangelist. In the- meantime the work should be. undertaken by members of the Presbytery themselves. It would be of advantage if presbyteries could work together in the matter — members here visiting congregations within the bounds of another presbytery, -which in return would render similar help to us. (4J (5) and (6). The Presbytery would su.ty.gest to the Evancelistic Committee of the Assembly that (a) it endeavour 'to secure the help of such ova ng<?h~ ties a<= Mr Hugh Paton, and (b) tha 4 it do its utmost to encourage congregation, to prepare in every way possible foi ih-> \ isit in two years' time of Dr Wilbur Chapman." The rerorr. on the motion of the Rev. Mr Kilpatrick, was adopted. "LTXSEED COMPOUND " for Coujrha and Colds. Relieves Asthma and difficult breathing.
