WIDE-WORLD PICTURES.

The weekly change of programme was 2nade at the Princess Theatre on the sth, the excellent display of the previous week being withdrawn in favour of another series of views of equal merit. The theatre was ■well filled in all parts in anticipation of an entertaining programme, and it may be said without any fear of contradiction that at the close of the display no one was disappointed. As usual, the series includes come exceedingly interesting scenes; this time harbour life and shipping in Copenhagen are selected for reproduction, and native work and customs in the island of Sunda account for a number of views that mere travellers round the world have not always the opportunity of seeing. These pictures of the manners and occupations of people in foreign lands possess an instructive value, the benefit of which cannot be over-estimated, and one could look with pleasure upon more pictures of the same class in place of some of the- humorous " fakes." There are many hundreds of people .in Dunedin who never mies tine opportunity of adding to their, store of knowledge by witnessing the new programmes as they come along every week, and these patrons and others should see the very fine views of Copenhagen. ' They are among the best the management has shown in Dunedin. " Bamboo Hat Making in Sunda" chows the steps taken in that industry in manufacturing headgear. "Tame Animals at Work" is both interest-" ing and amusing. Plenty of mirth is provided in the comic pictures, the best of •which are "He Would be a Champion" and "Juggins's Motor Skates." "Nat's Conversion " may be termed a tale of muscular Christianity, and "A Romance rf Life" is a moving love story. These two pictures, which belong to a more serious order of things, were received with every •marl- of approbation. j
