MISS ADA WARD.
SYDNEY. August 5. Some interesting correspondence between Mi** Ada Ward (the actref<-evangelii-t) and Mi- Walter Bentley has been published. The latter sought to obtain from M>'«s Ward proof of a. rerent s-tatement that several actors had left tlie Mage through her ministrations in Sydney, and asked her if ?he had coioe to a decision about returning to the etage. Miss Ada wired from Melbourne: "Will accept £100 weekly." This was the result of an interview with Mr Bentley in Sydney, when mention was made of staging " Mrcbeth " and of the possibility of Mi?s Ward appearing as Lady Macbeth. Mr Benttey replied that the terms were prohibitive. In a letter from Adelaide ML/3 Waxd
stated: "I shall most likely make my reappearance at Portsmouth."
