OTAGO LAND BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Otago Land Board, held yesterday, was attended by Mr E. H. Wilmot (Commissioner of Crown Lands), Messrs D Barron, J. Tough, and G. Livingstone. Wm. A. Pullar wrote asking if he could purchase section 33, block 11, Catline district, 9 uarr y reserve.— Referred to County Council to say if section applied for is required as a quarry. Thomas Gardner, lessee of section 13a, Kauroo Hill Settlement, wrote stating that the Kauroo River had shifted its course in a north-easterly direction^ and asks if the board will assist in turning it back. — Held over until next meeting; Mr Livingstone to report. C. R. Attfield wrote with reference to area granted Robert M'lntosh under occupation lease, block ll, ' Leaning Rock district, and asking that he (Attfield) be allowed to retain an area of about eight acres. — Referred to Ranger O'Neill for report. Ranger O'Neill reported that the lessee of S.G. Run No. 224z, Blackstone, 's not yet complying with the residence condition. — Lease declared forfeited. Ranger O'Neill reported that the lessee of S,G. Run 224t, Blackstone, ie not yet complying with the residence conditions. — Lease declared forfeited. Brodrick and Cha\mer, on behalf of a client, ' wrott asking that the unsold sections in block XIX, Town of Cromwell, be offered for sale. — Unsold sections in blocks XIX, XX, and XXVIII, to be offered at auction; Upset £3 per section. Samuel Dunlop wrote further with reference to the land granted him in block I, Pomahaka district. — To be informed that unless the terms offered by the board are agreed to within one month no alteration will be made in original boundary. James Howell applied to tx allowed to surrender hia pastoral license ovei Run No* 219, Naseby. — Board could not see its way to recommend that the surrender be allowed. A furthei report was received from the Inspector of Mines with referenc to the application by James M'Connell for an occupation lease over 80 acres in block I, Bannockburn district. — Applicant to make fresh application if he so desire. Walter Allan Kinross applied to purchase an area of 200 acres, Kawarau district.—Held over until question of homestead for the run is dealt with. James M'Hardy applied for a yearly license over part of the Adams Flat Mining Reserve. — Yearly license granted at rent ol £1 per annum. Mary O'Connor applied for an occupation lease over 100 acres of the Adams Flat Mining Reserve, Tokomairiro district. — Application to be advertised and referred to warden foi report. James Buchanan applied foi an area of 100 acres on Morven Hills Run. — Held over. John Thompson, on behalf of Martin Neilan, applied for a yearly license over two acres fronting section 84, block VI, Tuapeka West district. — Referred to ranger for report. Alexander Douglas wrote with reference to the question of a fence between his property in block I, Otokia district, and section la, Duncan Settlement. Hr also made an offer for a grazing license over the section. — To be informed that the board cannot assist in fencing. Board recommended that the section be offered at reduced valuation of £2 per acre. J. M'Kinlay, lessee of Run No. 10, Wakatipu, wrote- asking that the license recently granted him over parts of section* 4 and 30, block VI, Mid Wakatipu district, bs as a homestead site foi his run, and that any improvements he effects on the sections be allowed as valuation on the run. — Agreed to. Robert B. Cowan applied for an area of ' 130 acres behind sections 6 and 7, block 111, Kawarau district. Kawarau Run. — Held over for inspection. James Beg-g, attorney for Catherine Begg, applied for the Minister's consent to Mrs Begg's holding, Run No. 258, in addition to Run No. 129. at present held by her. — Recommended for Minister's approval. H. M.
