THE OLD RECLAMATION AND THE NEW: VIEW LOOKING ALONG ST. KILDA BEACH TOWARDS ST. CLAIR. For some years previous to 1900 St. Kilda was liable at any spring tide to be flooded by sea water. It is now protected by this bank of sai:d and marram grass, which is from Bft to 10ft high, and about half a mile in length.
