August 9.— Mr Courtier, Government orchard inspector, gave, a helpful demonstration of "spraying and pruning at the garden of Mr Garland, president of the A. ami P. Association. Mr Courtier emphasised the necessity for keeping clean what i-> one of the cleanest fruit districts in New Zealand. A similar demonstration was given at Morneen, in the garden of Mr E. Stokes.
