This Department is a Recognised Specialty with us, and we are even better prepared than usual with a Magnificent Collection of Trimmed and Untriinmed Hats-, Toques, etc. The Colours predominating for the coming season are Greens, Browns, Purples, • and Navj's. The Shapes are mainly the drooping kind, well down behind nnjj .-well off the face — in many cases turned right up in front. . The Materials are Coarse Plait Straws, and the Shot Effects in these promise to be extremely popular. Fine Crinoline and phip, Silk, and Satinoovered Shapes, in Plain and Iridescent CoJounK Futs promise to be as popular as ever as the season advances, white in tlie ; e being greatly .in evidence. The - Trimmings consist largely of Big Flow- ■ ing Plumes flf Ostrich, Cogue, Marabout, and Paradise Feathers, with large Bows. Very large Lusitania Roses are also being used, and Rosettes of all descriptions are introduced. mantle and Costuiuo Department. The Garments in this Department for the new season are very Stylish. The Coats are all long—some tight-fitting, some loose, with strap at back, and the long swing sac shape is also showing. The Colours and Materials are Plain Brownß. Oreens, and Navys in Cheviot Serge and Tweeds in Medium and Dark Mixtures and Finer Textures than in former seasons. Costumes are to be worn both with the Long Tight-fitting Coats and the Short, Smart, Tight-fit-ting Tailored Semi-Norfolk Shape in Plain Cloths, Serges, and Tweeds of Dark Rich Colours and Stripe Effects. Furs in the Shapes over the shoulder and Scarf Styles ore showing in Mink, Mai mot, Im. Stone Marten, Foxaliue, Fox, Squirrel, etc. Greys, Browns, and Whites are predominating Colours. New Dross Materials. Our Department is filled to overflowing with nothing but New Materials. Here ilso the prevailing Tints are Browns. Greens, and Purples— the appropriate Autumn' Colours. Mixed Friezes, Bark, Rich Striped Tweeds, Phantom Striped and Checked Materials, Cheviot Serges, and Plain Cloths are the Goods most largely demanded by fashion, and Velveteens promise to be more popular than for many seasons. Our two Dressmakers — Mlbs Broome and Miss Hodge — are now Booking Orders, and we invite Ladies who have mot yet had the satisfaction of being gowtwd by them to give them a Trial. \ We confidently .say there are no -better Dressmakers in Dunedin.
