W. H. Fogw«ll says that Tresidder was not-at hie best when he met Webb. He showed no da&h. Further, he always felt too sure, and thus appraised Webb too cheaply. Fogwell speaks highly of th«~ Wanganui course. | TRESIDDER FAIRLY BEATEN. | • GI3BORNE, March 4. i Tresidder arrived at Gisborne to-day, and was warmly welcomed by members of the rowing community. He states that he has not. yet made up his mind whether to settle in the Dominion. Referring to the' I Sydney cablegram as to Fogwell's opinion, he states that it is quite incorrect. He in "* no way under-estimated Webb's capabilities,' recognising that he had a very hard race torow. He considers that* he (Tresidder) rowed as well as ever in his life, and. showed plenty of dash, but was fairly and - squarely beaten by the Wanganui man.
